Journey Through Psalms…Continued

I am slowly traversing through the book of Psalms. Just as in the story of the Tortoise and the Hare, slow and steady wins the race. The following verses have spoken to my heart like a fresh Spring breeze. I pray God speaks to you also.

Psalms 31:19 (NIV) “How abundant are the good things God has stored up for those who fear him; good things given to those who seek refuge in Him.”*

Psalms 31:19 (MSG) “What a stack of blessings you have piled up for those who worship you; Ready and waiting for all who run to you to escape and unkind world.”*

Note: “To fear the Lord” doesn’t necessarily mean to be scared of the Lord, but rather to have a holy awe, wonder, reverence, worship, and honor for who He is and recognizing who we are not

Psalms 31:23 (MSG) “Love God , all you saints, God takes care of all who stay close to him.”

Psalms 32:1-5 “Blessed is the one whose: Transgressions are forgiven, sins covered (by the blood of Christ), iniquity not hidden from the Lord.”

Psalms 32:7 “You are my hiding place.”

Psalms 32:10 “The Lord’s unfailing love surround the one who trusts in Him.”

Psalms 33:11 “The plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart though all generations.”

Psalms 33:13, 18 “From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind….The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear (worship and honor) him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.” Psalms 34:4 “I sought the Lord and he answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.”

Psalms 34:5 “Those who look to him are radiant, their faces are never covered in shame.”

Psalms 34:7 “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and he delivers them.”

Psalms 34:8 “Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

Psalms 34:10 “Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing!”

Psalms 34:17 “The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them and delivers them from all their troubles.”

Psalms 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalms 35: 28 “I will sing your praises all day long!”

Psalms 36:8 “Those who walk with the Lord will feast from abundance of your house and drink from your river of delight.”

Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desire of your heart.”

Psalms 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord, trust Him and He will do whatever needs to be done.”

Psalms 37:7 “Be still and patiently wait for Him.”

Psalms 37:28 “The Lord will not forsake his faithful ones!”

Psalms 37:40 “The Lord helps and delivers them…because they take refuge in Him.”

Psalms 38:15 “ I wait for you O Lord; you will answer.”

Psalms 39:12 “Hear my prayer Lord, listen to my cry for help. Do not be deaf to my weeping.”

Psalms 40:1-3 “I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of a muddy pit and set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth-a praise to God!”

Psalms 40:4 “Blessed (happy) is the one who makes the Lord their trust.”

Psalms 40:5 (my version) “The wonderful things you have done and what you have planned for us are too abundant to count!”

Psalms 40:16 “May all who seek you rejoice and be glad. May those who love your salvation say “Praise be to God!”

Psalms 41:1 “ Blessed (happy) is the one who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in time of trouble.”

Psalms 42:8 “By day the Lord directs his love, by night his song is with me.”

Psalms 43:2 “You are God, my stronghold!”

Psalms 43:3 “Send forth your light and truth, let them guide me.”

Psalms 43:5 “Put your hope in God.”

Psalms 44:1-8 (my version) “Our ancestors told us of all the marvelous victories that your brought by your mighty right hand and the light of your face. It is all because of you. God, we will boast about you all the day long and praise your Name forever!”

Psalms 45:8 “The music of the strings make you glad!”

(This verse makes me think of Rachel playing the violin.)

Psalms 45:17 “I will perpetuate your memory through all generation; therefore the nations will praise your name forever and ever.”

Psalms 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength and ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though everything around us falls apart.”

Psalms 46:7 “The Lord Almighty is with us!”

Psalms 46:10 “Be still and know that I AM GOD! Psalms 47:4 “He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.”

Psalms 47:6 “Sing praises to God. Sing praises and praises and praises to our King. Sing praises!”

Psalms 48:4 “For this God is our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even to the end.”

Psalms 49:15 “But God will redeem my life and soul from the grave;

He will surely take me to himself”

Psalms 50:14-15 “Sacrifice a thanks offering to Me and call upon Me in the days of trouble; I will deliver me and you will honor Me.-God”

Psalms 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Psalms 51:10 (Message version) “God make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life!”

Psalms 51:17 (Message version) “I learned God worship when my pride was shattered. Heart shattered lives, ready for love, don’t for a moment escape God’s notice.”

Psalms 52:8-9 “I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever. I will praise your for what you have done, in your name I will hope for your Name is good. I will praise you in the presence of saints.”

Psalms 53:5 “They were overwhelmed with dread where there was nothing to dread!”

Psalms 54:4 “Surly God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me!”

Psalms 55:17 “Evening, morning, and noon I cry our in distress and He answers my voice.”

Psalms 55:22 “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.”

Psalms 55:23b “But as for me, I trust in you!”

Psalms 56:3-4 “When I am afraid I will trust you. In God whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

Psalms 56:9b “I will know God is for me!”

Psalms 57:3 “He sends from heaven and saves me (He rebukes those who hotly pursue me). God sends his love and faithfulness.”

Psalms 58:11 “Surely the righteous (those who walk with the Lord) are still rewarded and surely there is a God who judges the earth.”

Psalms 59:16 “I will sing of your strength in the morning. I will sing of your love. For you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.”

Psalms 59:17 “O Strength, I sing praise to you, O God my fortress, my loving God.”

(I love how the author calls God ‘O Strength’)

Psalms 60:4 “But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow.”

Psalms 60:5 (My version) “Save me and help me with your mighty right hand, that I, who loves you, may be delivered from this mess I’m in.”

Psalms 60:11-12 “Give us aid against the enemy for the help of man is worthless. With God we will gain the victory and He will trample down our enemies.”
