Opposites Attract

On Friday, a situation occurred at work. Typically, when these things happen my initial reaction is anger and irritation, followed by anger and frustration. But on this day I felt

Peace.

Peace that passes all understanding…Philippians 4:7

I immediately recognized the sense of peace as not my own reaction, but rather a supernatural gift from the Holy Spirit.

The fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22

There in the middle of work, eyes cast heavenward I prayed, “Thank you Lord for peace, all glory and praise to you Lord for peace.

Because you hold my life in the palm of your hand, I can have peace.”

Opposites: Peace and Fear

Those two words are complete opposites, but yet time and time again those words

are found together in the bible. God knew we would be fearful, but Peace conquerors fear.

Peace is a gift and fear is a choice!

Peace I leave with you; MY peace I give you….Do not let your hearts be troubled and

do not be afraid. John 14:27

I will grant peace….and no one will make you afraid. Leviticus 26:6

Peace! Do not be afraid. Judges 6:23

Did you catch that! Wow! Peace is a gift and fear is a choice. God gives peace as a a gift, but if something/someone makes us afraid…that is our choice. Fear is a choice.

God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid (notice this is a choice). The Lord himself, is my strength and my defense and He as become my salvation.

Isaiah 12:2 (emphasis mine)

Friends, accept the gift of peace and chose God, rather than fear.
