Under Restoration

At 9 am today, I traded my red chair for the porch swing. With coffee in hand, I asked God “What do you want to tell me today, Lord?”An unseasonably warm breeze brushed my face, rustling my hair and the pages of my Bible.

“Remember to cling to the promise I gave you” was the inaudible response.

God reminded me to cling to the promise He gave me in 1 Peter 5:10:

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.” (1 Peter 5:10, NIV)

One of my prayer warriors, Redd is on a trip of a lifetime to the Holy land. Each day I follow his journey through Facebook.  Yesterday, standing outside my doctor’s office I received a message from Redd indicating he spoke my name aloud for healing at the Mount of Beatitudes.

Today, on the other side of the world, Redd walked where Jesus walked. At 9am today (his time) Redd stood on the beach where Jesus restored Peter. He prayed my name aloud for restoration and healing.

It is not by coincidence that I am feeling restored.  The same Christ who restored Peter is restoring me.

Notice who penned the promise I’m clinging–Peter.  When Peter wrote this letter, inspired by his encounter with Christ,  I wonder if he was sitting on the same beach where he was restored.

Today, March 10, 2016 my name was prayed aloud along the seashore where Christ restored Peter and “It is well with my soul.”
