A Red Chair Revelation

Dear friend,

I am inviting you to my secret place. Pull up your favorite chair up close to mine. Lean in. It’s okay if our knees touch. Over the next 365 days, I will be posting short Red Chair Revelations.

What is a revelation?

Revelation: noun

1 a: an act of revealing or communications divine truth

b: something that is revealed by God to humans

2 a: an act of revealing to view or making known

b: something that is revealed; especially an enlightening or astonishing disclosure.

Simply stated, a revelation is a secret or surprising fact communicated from God to humans.

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (Ephesians 6:17-19, NIV)

God has a secret plan to communicate to anyone desiring to know Him better.

In October 2015, God brought me to a place of physical dependence of Him. God has revealed more of Himself in the last four months than I’ve seen in the past forty years.

I invite you into my secret place where I pulled my chair close to God’s throne and leaned in waiting in expectation. The first revelation God issued were the lyrics to an old hymn. These six powerful words wrapped me in a blanket of peace:

“It is well with my soul.”

I have more questions than answers, but one thing I know, “It is well with my soul.”
