Coming Unglued

I cry out for help. “Lord, help!”

I turn to the familiar words of comfort given to me a decade ago when I struggled with changing hormones from post-partum depression:

“I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 40:10, NIV)

I cry out to the Lord for help and He replied with these words:

“God said, ‘Look, here is a place right beside me. Put yourself on this rock.” (Exodus 33:21)

Although initially intended for Moses, God chose reveal Himself to me also. God reminded me that He is a saving a place right beside him. He provided a place of safety and security upon a rock. This was a place where He would hold my hand and strengthen me through this hormonal storm.

Upon the rock I stood, my hand tiny compared to God’s. He leaned in and whispered to me “You are mine” (Isaiah 43:1). My hand squeezed His and the storm abated.

“My soul clings to You; Your right hand upolds me.” (Psalms 63:8, NASB)

Do you ever feel unglued? What words to you turn to in the midst of the storm?
